It's All Good: Acoustic Version

Here's another of my tunes. Just me, my guitar, and the mic in the studio. Oh yeh, there was a camera pushing me to Ustream.tv, too. [grin]

Piece of Mind: Acoustic Version

Here's a video of me in the home studio running through my song "Piece of Mind." Very basic, very raw. Just me and the vid-cam.

Singing Beatles Solo Tunes

I felt like singing tonight. I didn't have any shows scheduled, so I thought I would just run through some covers that recently inspired me. These two songs seem to have so much impact on me.

The recent death of my friend and fellow firefighter Jason Kirby has made me quite sad at times. I stumbled across a video tribute recently of George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass." The song made me weep, but it also made me feel much better all the same. I felt that I could probably cover the tune when I play so I tried it. I've recorded a version for you to hear, as well.

John Lennon's "Real Love" is an amazing tune when fully produced. Of course, the produced version features the three surviving Beatles (at the time) Paul, Ringo and George. It is quite good in my opinion. More dramatic, and perhaps more accurate, is John's original piano/vocal demo. The lyrics are considerably different than those finally recorded by the other boys. I thought I would do a cover version with some of my own interpretation on guitar, but with John's original demo lyrics.

I hope you enjoy the tunes. They've made me feel better just recording them.

Song Dedication for Freida

I was chatting with my friend (everybody's friend?) Freida on Facebook today.  Of all the places to connect, that's where we ended up in conversation.  She mentioned her page of friends at her site Freida's Hat (go take a look).  She said that I should send her a video of a song, since I was poised to play with guitar in hand on my Facebook profile pic.

So, here's the tune.  Enjoy, Freida!
