You remember those teeter-totters we rode as kids? They were nothing more than a board balanced on a pedestal or frame of some sort. If it was evenly balanced, the board would actually seem to float in place. Add a kid to one end and the board would tip down from the weight. Add another kid to the other side, the board would either tip in response to the new weight -- or in cases where the kid just didn't have enough weight to offer -- it would stay put.
Lately it seems that I'm on that board, but nobody's on the other side. I'm struggling to find balance, but in truth, I'm just weighted in place. Now, if I add other people to the mix, I can sometimes find a bit more balance. And, like the board, if I shift the center of gravity to give the other person more of the board, I'll start to float a bit.
I'm a spiritual kind of guy when I remember to be. Life and the material world often preoccupy me. I have to focus and take the time to look to my God. Perhaps I'm sitting too heavy on that teeter-totter. I haven't invited Him over to ride on the other side to help lift me up. Maybe that board is sitting with the center of gravity toward me instead of Him.
Regardless of your faith, don't try to ride it alone. Shift that balance so that others can help you when needed. Invite them to the playground to ride with you. If you're sitting there on the bottom of the board alone you'll never reach the sky.
