Should I or Should I Not "Do" Social Media?
Monday morning I had the opportunity to present this topic to attendees of the Governor's Highway Safety Association annual meeting in Kansas City. My intent was to simply initiate some of the participants to the possiblities of using social media for their campaigns and awareness programs, while also discussing a few of the advantages and disadvantages that exist.
This Prezi is the highlights of the presentation. As should be done, I attempted not to simply read the content in the Prezi, but to expand upon the highlights in the topic to show examples as seen "in the wild" and to encourage conversation. (Death by Powerpoint reference)
I'm sharing the bare-bones Prezi option here for those that would like to get a general idea of the presentation -- or for those that would like to revisit the presentation to <wink-nudge-grin>support notes or memory loss</wink-nudge-grin>.
To view the presentation, simply click the arrow to start. Then, using your arrow keys, move forward or backward to navigate.
Sidebar: I managed to get animated at one point in the presentation and found myself tripping over the tripod leg of the projector screen. Did no one get that on video? Anybody? Obviously, this was a group more attuned to putting the correct message out to their advocates. Otherwise, this would have been all over YouTube by now. [emoticon needed here]
